Caruccio’s culinary event center donates 20 Thanksgiving dinners

The meals, assembled by volunteers from a charity league, were given to Youth and Family Services.

Caruccio’s Culinary Event Center donated its annual 20 full Thanksgiving dinners to the Mercer Island Youth and Services Foundation in the week leading up to the holiday.

The Thanksgiving dinners included a turkey, all of the fixings and homemade pies. On Nov. 19, five mother/daughter teams from the Lake Washington National Charity League helped to prepare the pies and organize the meals for delivery.

“Giving back to the community was a driving element when creating Caruccio’s Culinary Event Center. This space allows us to host events and activities that benefit others,” owner Lisa Caruccio said.

Caruccio’s is an active sponsor for Mercer Island Youth and Family Services, Mercer Island Farmers Market, Mercer Island Uncorked Festival, Seattle International Film Festival and FareStart, along with other organizations within the community.

Caruccio’s Culinary Event Center is located on Mercer Island and specializes in unique food and wine events. Caruccio’s features an open demo kitchen, floor to ceiling windows, AV, film wall and fireplace. It opened about a year ago.
