Three Boy Scouts from Troop 457 earned Eagle Scout. They are, from left, R. Grady Short, Cosmo K. Neames and Mark O. Mangino.

Mark Oliver Mangino, Cosmo Kemuel Neames and Renzin Grady Yuthok Short received their Eagle Scout medals during a celebration on Jan. 27.

All three Troop 457 scouts are students of Mercer Island High School.

The Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at the Mercer Island VFW Hall.

Scoutmaster Floyd G. Short (and R. Grady’s father) led the ceremony.

The ceremony included an honor guard formed by the brothers of Mangino and Short (Luke and John Mangino, and Thomas and Kalden Short, all Scouts) who presented and retired the colors.

Guest speakers during the ceremony included Tim Louie, Dr. Floyd A. Short (grandfather of Short) and Travis Keeler (grandfather of Mangino). All three guest speakers are also Eagle Scouts.

Neames’s father, Caleb Neames, and Mangino’s mother, Allison Keeler, received recognition for their years of service to Troop 457 as assistant scoutmaster and Merit Badge counselor coordinator, respectively.

All three boys conducted their Eagle Scout service projects on Mercer Island parks or open space land.
