The Incredible Years curriculum will return in February and March

The Mercer Island Healthy Youth Initiative (HYI) will bring The Incredible Years — Attentive Parenting to Island families with children 2-6 years old in February and March.

The evidence-based curriculum from the University of Washington offers new skills to promote children’s reading and school readiness, problem solving, social competence and emotional self-regulation.

This eight-week series will be held online once a week from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 3-March 24. The series will be led by experts in the field, Kimberlee Shoecraft, licensed independent clinical social worker; and Mercer Island-based psychologist Ziv Bell, Ph.D.

Last spring, HYI brought the first virtual pilot of The Incredible Years program to the Island.

To register, email rachel.montgomery@mercerisland.gov. There is no cost to participate, registration is limited, and will be first come, first served. Wait-listed registrations will be given priority for registration in future series.
