Mercer Island defeats Bellevue in boys swim and dive action

Mercer Island’s boys swim and dive (SWIVE) squad won its season opener against Bellevue, 111-72, on April 27.

Islander winners were:

200 freestyle: Senior Kieran Watson (1:42.93).

50 freestyle: Junior Winn Jackson (21.91); second, sophomore Matthew Shield (22.12).

100 freestyle: Sophomore Evan Liu (48.17); second, Shield (48.51).

500 freestyle: Sophomore Matt Williamson (4:43.92); second, Watson (4:48.09).

200 freestyle relay: Senior Dan Gao, senior Collin Ralston, Liu and Watson (1:29.44).

Divers: first, senior Connor Pettigrew; second, junior Lukas Vorkorper; and third, junior Alex Levin.

Mercer Island continued its winning ways with a 149-43 victory over Interlake on April 29.
