Police officers arrest two subjects in stolen vehicle

On the morning of Dec. 19, Mercer Island police officers arrested two subjects riding in a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Island Crest Way and Southeast 68th Street.

After halting the vehicle that was reported swiped at 9:31 a.m., officers arrested the driver for possession of a stolen vehicle and for driving under the influence, and also arrested the passenger for warrants. According to police, both subjects were impaired by drugs and required transportation to a local hospital for medical clearance.

Investigation is ongoing.
