Mercer Island Farmers Market will return on June 4 / City Briefs

The Mercer Island Farmers Market will kick off its 2023 season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 4 along Southeast 32nd Street just north of Mercerdale Park. Vendors will offer fresh produce and hot/prepared food and the market will also feature live music, crafts and more. Mini recycling event

The city is piloting a mini recycling event to collect only paint, televisions, computers and electronics along with offering document shredding from 9 a.m. to noon on June 9 in the city hall parking lot. Visit: www.mercerisland.gov/recyclingevent.

Summer Celebration

Summer Celebration is set for July 15 and will feature the return of the community parade to kick off the festivities in addition to live music, art vendors, kids’ activities, community booths, food trucks, the signature fireworks show and more.

Events will occur from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Mercerdale Park and from 6-10:15 p.m. at Luther Burbank Park, where fireworks will launch at 10 p.m.

Island Books, John L. Scott Mercer Island and Island Treats have partnered with the city to bring back the parade. Event sponsors are Mercer Island Martial Arts, Belle Harbour, the Mercer Island Community Fund and The Mercer Apartment Homes.
