Mercer Island High School’s girls swim and dive squad won its fourth consecutive 3A KingCo and 3A SeaKing District championships over the last two weeks.
Next up is state on Nov. 14-15 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
KingCo
Islander first-placers were: Clare Watson in the 200 freestyle (1:52.15) and 100 freestyle (51.79); Gracyn Kehoe in the 200 individual medley (2:01.27) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.01 ); Elaine Chen in the 50 freestyle (24.86); Klara Kirschbaum in the 100 butterfly (58.84); the 200 medley relay (1:46. 94) of Watson, Kehoe, Emma Nowakowski and Meg Dahlin; the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.18) of Chen, Hope Enge, Watson and Kehoe; and the 400 freestyle relay (3:37.39) of Kirschbaum, Chen, Hope Enge and Dahlin.
SeaKing
Taking first for MI were: Kehoe in the 100 free (50.29) and 200 free (1:47.99); Watson in the 100 back (54.33, school record) and 100 fly (52.69, school and district record); Tatum Enge in the 50 free (23.57); Kirschbaum in the 100 breast (1:03.87); the 200 medley relay (1:43.51) of Watson, Kirschbaum, Tatum Enge and Hope Enge; and the 400 free relay (3:24.60) of Tatum Enge, Dahlin, Kehoe and Watson.
The second-place 200 free relay (1:35.12) of Chen, Hope Enge, Dahlin and Kehoe set a school record.
