Elizabeth Doll will discuss “Talking Across Divides: An Intro to Braver Angels” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on April 7 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.

The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.

Doll, director of Braver Politics at Braver Angels, will provide an introduction to the bridge-building and trust-building work of national nonprofit Braver Angels, explaining how they teach Americans everywhere to find common ground where they can and disagree accurately where they cannot and still remain friends.

She joined Braver Angels in March 2022 as the director of Braver Politics after four years of volunteering with the organization and many years working in politics in the Pacific Northwest. She began political work as a teen, when, while interning on a congressional campaign, she became passionate about improving her community through civic engagement. Since then, Doll has consulted for and worked on many state and local campaigns, and currently writes on Substack at https://substack.com/@understandingpolitics.
