Bluebirds advance to USATF Junior Olympic Championships

Five Mercer Island Bluebirds runners advanced to the 2026 USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships after competing at the Pacific Northwest Region 13 Championships on July 11-12 at Juanita High.
Lily Augustine qualified in the girls 11-12 800 meters with a time of 2:37.32. Tom Crandall advanced in the boys 13-14 3,000 meters in 9:49.10.
Aksel Davidson qualified in the boys 9-10 1,500 meters in 5:14.19, and Emily Farrell advanced in the girls 11-12 1,500 meters in 5:10.96.
Kalyna Tsai qualified in two girls 9-10 events, running 5:50.46 in the 1,500 meters and 2:56.54 in the 800 meters.
The runners train with Mercer Island Bluebirds head coach Desiree Berry. They will compete at nationals from July 27 through Aug. 2 in Norwalk, California.
