Kyra’s Hope Foundation will hold a Walk for Hope, a family-friendly community walkathon supporting children facing cancer and their families, at 9 a.m. on Aug. 2 at 60 Acres South Field (15101 NE 116th St.) in Redmond.
Kyra Gupta, a 12-year-old Mercer Island resident, passed away on Nov. 9, 2025, from a rare type of pediatric cancer called metastatic Ewing sarcoma.
The event is open to families, friends, neighbors, school communities, corporate teams, volunteers and “anyone who wants to turn a simple walk into meaningful action,” according to the foundation.
“Kyra’s Hope Foundation was created in memory of Kyra, whose light, courage, and love continue to guide everything we do. Through this walk, we honor children currently in treatment, celebrate survivors, remember the children we have lost, and stand with families who should never have to walk this journey alone,” the foundation said on its event page.
