No on Initiative 1033

Published 1:28 pm Tuesday, October 27, 2009

A person approaches you with a legal document asking you to commit to never spending more on your future needs than you spend on your present needs. What will you do? You think about your future. More than likely, your health care costs will increase. More than likely, the cost of food will increase. More than likely, the cost of energy to heat your house and fuel to visit your family will go up. You know this because these things have already happened and will continue to happen. So you do not agree to limit your future by binding yourself to a bad idea.

Initiative 1033, if passed, will limit our ability to invest in education, the strength of our economy and our future. It will limit our ability to repair roads, bridges and potholes. It will limit our ability to provide for the elderly. If passed, the restrictions of Initiative 1033 will hurt every citizen of our state by binding flexibility to meet future challenges. For your own sake and that of your family and neighbors, please vote NO on Initiative 1033.
