The Mercer Island High School (MIHS) Robotics team took first place at the PNW District Sammamish First Robotics event that occurred from March 20-22 at Sammamish High School in Bellevue. Additionally, the locals received the FRC Judges Award, a special recognition in the FIRST Robotics Competition that allows the judging panel to honor a team for unique efforts, exceptional performance and special dynamics that deserve recognition. It highlights standout characteristics or achievements observed during the competition. MIHS will next compete at the districts level in Cheney from April 9-11. “A shout-out to the team, mentors, sponsors and parents who made this happen and best of luck as they move forward in their quest for world domination,” reads a press release.
