Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast fundraiser will take place Sunday, April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Have breakfast with the Boy Scout Troop #457 at Mercer Island Episcopal Church, Parish Hall, 4400 86th Ave. S.E. A menu of pancakes, sliced ham, fruit salad, juice, coffee and tea is prepared and served by the Boy Scouts themselves. Proceeds benefit Troop members for upcoming summer camp and provide funding to replace worn-out equipment. Tickets are available now from Troop members and they will be selling tickets soon at various locations around the Island. Prices are $15 for a family, $5 for an individual, and $3 for senior citizens.

A Treasure Trove Tea, sponsored by the Senior Foundation, will be held Saturday, April 21 at the Fellowship Hall of Covenant Shores from 2 to 4 p.m. Harold and Sharry Broman will present their evaluations of antiques, collectibles, and other treasures, based on forms submitted in advance. The Antique Kids will do some line dancing. Please park at the City Hall where shuttle service will be available at 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, and 2 p.m. with corresponding return shuttles after the event. MIHS Baseball car wash: annual fundraiser is Sunday, April 22 from 9 a.m. until noon. Come get your car washed and help support the Mercer Island High School Baseball teams. Community Yogathon Benefit will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at CCMV. It will include a variety of class styles taught by local instructors. Fees will be donated to Mercer Island Youth and Family Services. All levels of experience are welcome, but classes will be taught with the beginner in mind. Please wear comfortable clothing, and bring a yoga mat or beach towel, water and a light lunch. For questions, call 236-3525. There is a minimum donation of $20 at the door.

Poetry on Buses 2007 is accepting submissions now through April 30. 4Culture’s Poetry on Buses program is a poetry competition open to residents of King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. The theme for the 2007 program is “Dreams;” poems may be submitted online at www.4culture.org.

Clubs

Mercer Island Preschool Association Circus is coming. The annual event will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at Mercer Island High School, 9100 S.E. 42nd St. Everyone is invited. Admission is free, and tickets for games are $.50 each. Most games cost one ticket. Kids can earn prizes by simply enjoying the games.

  • April Pools Day is Monday, April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. Join in on this annual day of education and water safety that is fun for the whole family. Everyone who walks through the door for this free event will be entered to win a Mustang life jacket and a free session of swim lessons.

    An inter-faith observance at the Holocaust Memorial outside the Stroum Jewish Community Center begins at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, and moves to Herzl-Ner Tamid at 4 p.m. “Holocaust Remembrance Day” honors the Hebrew words on Gizel Berman’s sculpture outside the center, urging “Thou Shalt Not Forget.”
