The Mary Wayte Pool reopened to the public Monday, June 22 after a period of COVID-19-related closure.
Per state health guidelines, the reopening necessitates operational adjustments to ensure cleanliness.
According to the Mary Wayte Pool website, all patrons are mandated to wear masks when in the building. Swimmers are not allowed to take them off until they are on the deck and ready to get into the water.
Before coming into the building, swimmers will be screened for COVID-19 and will have to sign a waiver before entering the pool.
Locker rooms will be closed; checks or cash will not be accepted to prevent the spread of germs. (Only debit or credit cards are allowed.)
A patron wanting to lap-swim must make an appointment ahead of time. For booking on the hour and on the half-hour, there will be 30-60-minute blocks available. Booking can be done by contacting marywaytepool@gmail.com.
Traffic pattern signage will be implemented throughout the building for patrons to closely follow.
More guidelines at the Mary Wayte Pool can be found on its website.
