Dixon Smith (Issaquah) and David Smith (Mercer Island), two brothers who grew up on Mercer Island, take their newly refurbished Miss Bardahl unlimited hydroplane out on Lake Washington Thursday. The brothers spent nearly 6,000 hours restoring the race boat over six years. The two had been on the original crew as teens and decided to restore the boat after it was discovered on the East Coast. It last ran in the 1965 Seafair Cup and won the race.
