41st District Legislators file early to retain their seats

Steve Litzow, State Senator from Mercer Island, is running for re-election in the 41st Legislative District, Maxwell and Clibborn also file

On May 14, Senator Steve Litzow filed to run for re-election in the 41stLegislative District. The 41st Legislative District includes Bellevue, Beaux Arts, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Newcastle, Renton, and Sammamish.

Litzow is a former City Council member for the City of Mercer Island. Islander Maureen Judge, also an Islander, has announced her intention to run for the State Senate seat.

A Republican, Litzow was elected in 2010 to finish a partial term. Since then, Litzow received the Warren G. Magnuson Award for Bipartisan Leadership from the King County Municipal League as well as the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition Conservation Leadership Award and the Guardian of Small Business award from the National Federation of Independent Businesses – Washington.

Incumbent State Representatives for the 41st District, Marcie Maxwell and Judy Clibborn, have also filed to retain their seats.
