The Mercer Island Preschool Association has partnered with the city to hold a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. on June 3 at the Mercer island Community and Events Center, 8236 SE 24th St. People can sign up at www.redcrossblood.org, and type in the code “MercerIsland” in the top right find a blood drive box.

According to the American Red Cross, it is facing its worst national blood shortage in more than a decade.
