Blue Friday | City of Mercer Island employees show Seahawk pride

City of Mercer Island employees showed their Seahawk pride on Jan. 5 with a tailgate party in the Public Works garage bay, before last week’s win over the Detroit Lions.

“If you look closely you will see City Attorney Kari Sand in the #12 jersey, Parks Director Bruce Fletcher in the #22 jersey, Finance Director Chip Corder in the front row, to the left of Bruce, new City Manager Julie Underwood to the right of Bruce and Public Works Director Jason Kitner in the front row, center, sitting on the tailgate along with the rest of the cast of MI characters,” according to a post on the Mercer Island Police and Emergency Management Facebook page. “Please disregard Police Commander Dave Jokinen in his Detroit jersey. He lost his mind temporarily, but has since professed his love for the Seahawks.”

The Seahawks play the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday.
