“Freedom, flexibility and predictability” are some of the key benefits the successful owners of franchised businesses often cite — and some of those individuals will be part of a free entrepreneurship and franchise summit on Sept. 28. Pre-registration is required.
Best-selling author, consultant and trainer Dr. Julie Miller, the president of Success Factors, Inc., and franchise expert Charlie Magee are keynote speakers for the event, to be held from 7:30–11 a.m. at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.
That duo will be joined by a panel of specialists with financing/accounting, legal, marketing and real estate know-how to help aspiring business owners make informed decisions. Also participating are representatives from national franchises that are expanding into the Puget Sound region, and a speaker on “combining a job with franchise ownership.”
Magee, a local franchise specialist with FranNet and experienced franchise owner, is co-hosting the event with Linked: Seattle, the largest business community in the Pacific Northwest.
“Our goal is to help summit participants understand if self-employment is the right path,” he explained. “If self-employment is a good fit, we can help entrepreneurs find franchising opportunities that best match their strengths, goals and budget.”
Miller, an acclaimed speaker and the founder of Business Writing That Counts!, will discuss “secrets of self-starters” (the title of her book). Over the past 25-plus years, she and her team of trainers have helped more than 750,000 professionals achieve their personal and professional goals using her “lean” writing philosophy.
Individuals in transition, whether from a job, military service, or personal situations, along with investors and those wanting to change careers are among people Magee and other FranNet advisers have helped make the move to self-employment via franchise ownership.
With more than 300 different business format categories, he said the franchise sector offers a wide array of choices.
He also cited research showing this sector’s 3,000 franchise concepts are outperforming the rest of the economy with an economic output valued at more than $890 billion.
Every person has different goals in mind, Magee noted.
“FranNet’s exclusive ‘Perfect Match’ process uses five tested components to help individuals assess if franchising is a good fit, and which opportunities will provide the best chance for fulfillment and success.”
The group’s consultants across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico provide complimentary education and support services to prospective franchise owners.
A light breakfast will be served at the event, which also includes exhibits, handouts and networking opportunities. Although free to attend, participants are encouraged to make a $10 donation to Junior Achievement of Washington, the nonprofit supported by Linked:Seattle, FranNet and Charlie Magee.
