The annual celebration of the opening day of boating season will take place this Saturday, May 4, with the Windermere Cup.

This year’s event will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Montlake Cut and University of Washington. UW, Windermere and the Seattle Yacht Club will host Cornell University and Dartmouth College in the 27th annual event.

The Montlake Bridge will close at 9:40 a.m. for boat traffic.
