City Illuminate MI events on tap

In addition to the holiday lights that brighten Town Center, Mercerdale Park and The Greta Hackett Outdoor Sculpture Gallery, the city of Mercer Island will host the following Illuminate MI events this December:

* Dec. 1 — Tree lighting and Firehouse Munch from 5:45-8 p.m. at Mercerdale Park and Fire Station 91 (featuring the Mercer Island High School Bel Canto and Jazz choirs, coffee cart, snow, Dickens Carolers, Santa photos, activities and treats)

* Dec. 2: Holiday Makers Market (75-plus vendors, crafty classes, festive music, raffles and food and drink) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center

* Dec. 7: Chabad Menorah Lighting from 5-6 p.m. at Mercerdale Park

* Dec. 9: Girl Scouts Toy Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mercerdale Park

* Dec. 15: Family Holiday Movie Night (Dr. Seuss’ “The Grinch”) from 5:30-8 p.m. at the community and event center

* Dec. 17: Argosy Christmas Ship from 7:40-8 p.m. at the Luther Burbank Park beach
