The Washington State Department of Transportation has planned a full closure of Interstate 90 between Interstate 5 and Island Crest Way for Aug. 27-28 in order for crews to complete fire, safety and other system maintenance in the tunnels at both ends of the floating bridge.

Both directions of the freeway will be closed from 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 27 until 6 a.m. on Aug. 28. Detour routes will be set up for overnight motorists.

Additionally, other agencies are planning to conduct related work at the same time to minimize closures in the future.
