For two Islander Middle School students, this summer was all about lacrosse.

For two Islander Middle School students, this summer was all about lacrosse.

Shelby Brodman and Holly Waggoner, both in the eighth grade, were members of the inaugural Cascade Cash girls 7/8 elite lacrosse team.

The team played in two local tournaments, Battle of Bothell and Cascade Cup, which the team won against other groups from the Northwest, Canada, Oregon and California.

They also traveled in July to the Brine California Classic tournament in San Juan Capistrano. The team made it to the finals before losing by one goal to the host team.

In the three tournament this summer, the Cascade Clash scored 184 goals, giving up just 75 goals to opponents, for an average victory by seven goals per game.
