Intergenerational tea honors Island seniors

We had more than 90 reservations to our third biannual intergenerational tea, honoring Island seniors 80+ and above. We were especially pleased to have some residents of Mercer Island Care & Rehab join us, personally arranged by Dalia Singh, activities director.

The executive board of the Senior Foundation of Mercer Island gives special thanks to Tom Cox and the MIHS Midnight Blues Jazz Choir for a wonderful performance at our “23 Skidoo Tea.” We would also like to thank mothers and daughters from the National Charity League who volunteered their time and talents along with Jeannette Eggebrecht, Liz Tubbs, Robin Phillips, Christine Sandoval and staff of Synergy to make an event attended by 90 people such a success. Mary Lewis of Goodwill staged an amazing fashion show of vintage clothing from the ’20s and ’30s. We hope to partner up again in 2012 for our next intergenerational tea.
