Islander wins regional tennis tournament | Sports brief

Jordan Smith, a student at Mercer Island High School, recently won a tennis tournament.

Smith was half of a doubles team that won the 18-year-old division at the USTA Pacific Northwest Sectional junior championships. He also won the singles title as a 16-year-old during the same event last August.

He won this years events with Hudson Barnhart, from Wenatchee, during the tournament in Beaverton, Ore.
