Islanders help team to district junior softball title

Two Mercer Island residents, who are members of a combine team with Bellevue, earned the District 9 Junior Softball All Star title Wednesday evening.

Claire McCarthy and Morgan Payou play with the Mercer Island Little League’s combine team with Bellevue West and Bellevue Thunderbirds.

The team was undefeated in the district 9 tournament, and will begin the state tournament this weekend at Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor.
