On Dec. 17, Mercer Island School District Superintendent Fred Rundle visited Northwood Elementary School and jumped right into the learning. He spent time in several classrooms, including Jen Wytaske’s 4/5 class, where he helped students explore fractional place value and joined a small-group math lesson. When students weren’t working with their teacher in a small group, they were engaged in adaptive math practice or having fun with a game of Fraction Golf.
