King County Elections releases final special election results

MISD bond measure comes up short of passing.

King County Elections published the final results and certification documents for the April 22 special election on May 2.

Mercer Island School District’s Proposition 1 $165 million bond measure fell short of the 60% approval amount needed to pass with 56.59%. The bond received 43.41% rejection.

MI met the 40% validation requirement (60%) with 9,553 ballots counted of the 15,843 MI voters who turned out in the 2024 general election.
