Girls water polo tops Bainbridge

Mercer Island girls water polo beat Bainbridge Island 7-4 Monday, April 28 at Mary Wayte Pool. Alicia Nordal had three goals, Michelle Na had two and Mallory Phillips and Nola Peshkin each had a goal for the Islanders, while Davis Simmons had seven saves in goal. Next up, Mercer Island will take on Roosevelt at 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Helene Madison Pool.

Girls lacrosse ties Lakeside

Mercer Island girls lacrosse tied its nonconference matchup with Lakeside 13-13 Monday night at Mercer Island High School, bringing the Islanders’ overall record to 4-5-1 on the season. Maddy Kanter had four goals for Mercer Island, while Katie Harris had two goals, two assists and three ground balls and Alle Dunbar had 10 saves in goal. The Islanders take on Kennedy at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 at Islander Stadium.

Liberty bats too much for fastpitch

The Liberty Patriot bats proved too much for Mercer Island fastpitch Monday, as the Patriots beat the Islanders 14-4 at Liberty High School. For the Islanders, Morgan Peyou went 4-4 with a double, an RBI and scoring two runs while Kayla Varney went 2-3 with a triple and a run scored. Mercer Island will celebrate Senior Night when the Islanders take on Mount Si at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at South Mercer Playfields.

Baseball cruises past Juanita

Mercer Island baseball used back-to-back five-run innings to cruise past Juanita 12-2 Monday at Island Crest Park. Brandon Lawler went 2-3 with a double and four RBIs and Keegan Ogard went 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. The Islanders will take on Liberty at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Island Crest Park.
