Mercer Island begins post season at KingCo tournament Tuesday | Prep girls tennis

The Mercer Island girls tennis team will begin the postseason on Tuesday, hosting the 2013 KingCo tournament.

The Mercer Island girls tennis team will begin the postseason on Tuesday, hosting the 2013 KingCo tournament.

In the first round of the singles competition, Nora Tan will begin by playing Interlake’s Setareh Rock at 10 a.m., while Carissa Ham will take on Sadie Demme of Liberty, also at 10 a.m. Melanie Lee will play Bellevue’s Karen Park at 11:30 a.m.

In the first round of the doubles competition, Gabby and Lydia Venditti will take on Juanita’s Emma Lewy-Morgan and Rachel Russell at 1:30 p.m., while Ashley Larson and Jamie Mounger will play Annalise Combs and Palm of Bellevue also at 1:30 p.m. Caroline Dillon and Caroline Hamilton will play Interlake’s Melissa Long and Kendall Wantanabe at 2:45 p.m.

The singles tournament will wrap up on Wednesday, May 8 with the championship match beginning at 5:30 p.m. The doubles championship will be played on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Parents and anyone interested in going to matches at Mercer Island High School are asking to park in the Boys and Girls Club PEAK parking lot. Spectators will not be allowed to park in the Mary Wayte Pool or Mercer Island High School parking lots.
