Mercer Island girls soccer players compete in Las Vegas tournament

Four Islander Middle School 7th graders traveled with the Eastside FC Girls U13 Red soccer team to Las Vegas, Nev. on Jan. 24th to compete in the Western College Development Association (WCDA) Silver State tournament.

Four Islander Middle School 7th graders traveled with the Eastside FC Girls U13 Red soccer team to Las Vegas, Nev. on Jan. 24th to compete in the Western College Development Association (WCDA) Silver State tournament. Emily Arron, Ashley Rudd, Jordan Snyder and Jackie Stenberg helped Eastside FC win the championship trophy after defeating Juventus SC Flash from northern California in the final, 3-1. Throughout the tournament, Eastside FC played teams from Nevada, Idaho and Oregon, scoring a total of 10 goals while allowing only 3 goals.

Eastside FC team members also include Samantha Bening, Eliana Blachman, Caitlin Marinelli, Georgia Marshall, Marissa Mills, Laura Pierson, McKenna Ross, Katie Sanders, Kiley Suter, Tori Wheeler, and Sakura Yoshida. The team is coached by Tom Bialek.
