Rain City Water Polo recently announced that Mercer Island native John Jacobson will be the club’s new head coach and executive director.

Jacobson will be the high school boys, high school girls and youth team head coach, and will lead the organization’s day to day administration.

“Rain City presents a phenomenal opportunity to give back to the sport that has provided me with so much,” said Jacobson in a press release. “The chance to work with people who are so passionate about water polo and want to grow the sport is a very exciting prospect. The values of hard work and team unity are lessons the coaching staff hopes to impart on our athletes, and from these values we hope to grow not just Rain City, but water polo in the Pacific Northwest.”

Jacobson played water polo for Mercer Island High School and played for Whittier College, a Division III NCAA school, graduating 2009 with a bachelors in business administration.

Rain City Water polo is a non-profit focused on promoting the sport in the greater Seattle area. Learn more by visiting www.raincitypolo.com.
