Mercer Island students celebrate art, science and world cultures

A national rocketry challenge, state math competition and world cultures fair are among some Mercer Island students’ recent ventures.
Northwest Yeshiva High School was one of only two Washington state schools to compete in the Team America Rocketry Challenge in Virginia, and placed 30th out of 100 teams.
Brothers Thomas and R. Grady Short ranked fourth among 89 total teams at the state math championship in Blaine last month.
Lakeridge Elementary’s first world cultures night last week featured booths of many nations and a performance by the Comerford School of Irish Dance.
