MI holds successful recycling event

Mercer Island’s Fall Recycling Event was a huge success on Oct. 25 at the boat launch. In all, more than 500 cars dropped off nearly 21 tons of recyclable material. That’s an average of 82 pounds of material per vehicle that will be kept out of landfills and disposed of responsibly. Some community members also generously donated money to support Mercer Island Youth & Family Services and the programs and services they provide on the Island, with $3,800 contributed in all.
