Mercer Island High School senior Alyssa Suhm, competes at the 2010 Youth World Appaloosa Show in Jackson, Mississippi, June 28-July 3. She won the Novice High Point title (best novice rider) for the competition. She earned a world title in Novice Hunt Seat Equitation, was reserve world champion in both English Showmanship and Novice Western Horsemanship, and placed in the top 10 in four additional classes. Suhm and her appaloosa, Zips Real Man, ride for Deerfield Farm in Issaquah, under coaches Sue Cumming-Schultz and Jessica Atterton.
