Northwest Yeshiva graduates 19

Northwest Yeshiva High School graduated 19 students on June 10 at Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation. Here is a summary of the students and their plans.

Northwest Yeshiva High School graduated 19 students on June 10 at Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation. Here is a summary of the students and their plans.

Yehuda Azose is the recipient of a NYHS Book Award. He intends to study at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh and then go to Lander College in New York.

Jake Baker plans to study aviation sciences and aeronautics at the University of North Dakota.

Avishai Baral is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner and the recipient of a NYHS Book Award. He plans on studying at Yeshivat Shvilei HaTorah in Israel this year and will return to Seattle to enter the University of Washington honors program in economics or finance.

Aleksey Bikov intends to study at a Yeshiva school and attend a university. His long-term goal is to become an American citizen and study medicine.

Grant Blumenstein is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner and a recipient of a NYHS Book Award. Next year, he will attend the University of Washington and plans to study microbiology, biology or psychology with an emphasis in pre-med.

Josh Etsekson will attend Tulane University in New Orleans.

Marina Garkavi is a 2009 Max H. Block Humanitarian Award winner and the 2009 Leah Schwartz Memorial Award winner.

Orlie Golan is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner. Next year, he will attend Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School in Jerusalem.

Leslie Golden is class Valedictorian for Overall Excellence and a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner. She will attend Brandeis University to study biology.

Josh Gordon plans to attend Bellevue College. He is interested in studying criminal justice.

Moriah Green will attend Bar Ilan’s Daniel S. Abraham Program next year.

Amir Hemmat is the recipient of the Irwin Elyn Memorial Award. He will study at Sha’arei Mevaseret Zion in Israel next year and will enroll in a hazzanut school. He later plans to attend either the University of Massachusetts or the University of Washington.

Carol Kaplan is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner and the recipient of the Head of School Award. Next year, she will attend the University of Washington to study psychology or biology.

Kayla Krauthamer is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner. She will spend the summer in Israel, traveling. In the fall, she will enter the University of Washington honors program.

Nathan Krohn will attend Yeshivat Shvilei HaTorah in Israel and then go to a university.

Max Price will study at Yeshivat Derech HaTalmud next year and then work toward a college degree while at a Yeshiva school in America.

Ben Silesky will attend the Young Judea year course in Israel. After that, he will enter the University of Redlands, Johnston Center of Integrative Studies.

Levi Solomyak is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner and a recipient of a NYHS Book Award. He will attend Washington University in St. Louis.

Avraham Young is a 2009 Washington State Top 10 percent Honors Award winner. He will study at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh in Israel next year and will subsequently study in a combined Yeshiva and college program.
