Price controls

Gasoline (regular) was about $3 per gallon on Mercer Island over the last week of February.

When I was in Ellensberg (the refinery capital of Washington?) last week, I noticed the average regular gas price of $2.61 per gallon.

A gracious veteran tank truck driver was off-loading from his two-tanker trailer rig and was glad to talk with me. Each of his two tanks was 5,500 gallons, for a total of 11,000 gallons. He came from Ferndale, across the Cascades, and said he knew exactly what the cost was — just a shade over $700 total, about 7 cents a gallon, to deliver it for sale in Ellensberg.

SR-520 floating bridge sniffling? I-960 suspension? Island Crest Way and other eternal squabbles? Recycling Center shut down. First things first! Starting with price controls.
