PTA Council presents eight awards at event

The Mercer Island PTA Council Awards took place on May 16 at the Mercer Island VFW Hall. The awards went to:

* Children’s Advocate – Superintendent Dr. Fred Rundle

* Outstanding Program Award – Special Services and Learning Differences (SSALD)

* Community Partner Award – Crawlspace

* WSPTA Golden Acorn – Cathy Chen and Kimberly Frank

* Outstanding Advocate – Mar Brettman and Samantha Rubenfeld

* Outstanding Service – Stephanie Burnett and Ly-Lan McCarthy

* PTA Honorary Life Membership – Debbie Burke and Janelle Honeycutt

* Outstanding Educator – Elizabeth Holland (Lakeridge Elementary), Jen McLellan (Mercer Island High School) and Susan Hamp (Island Park Elementary)
