Washington Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA, 8th District), who has an office on Mercer Island, was treated in Washington, D.C. last week for a subdural hematoma, the collection of blood on the surface of the brain. He has now left the hospital, according to reports.
Reichert was admitted to George Washington University Hospital last Wednesday after not feeling well.
In a news release from his office, it says doctors performed a procedure to address a “chronic subdural hematoma that was likely the result of a minor head injury. The procedure was successful, and he is expected to make a full and complete recovery”.
Because of his hospitalization Reichert will miss the House vote on the health care bill, but his staff has said he will submit, for the record, a reiteration of his vote against the bill.
