Sewer Lakeline update: work ahead of schedule

Construction by both contractors on the Sewer Lakeline Construction Project is proceeding well, according to a Nov. 2 city update. It is expected that both contractors will reach substantial completion ahead of schedule.
Manson Construction plans to complete the installation of the sewer mainhead by the end of this year, three months ahead of schedule. Side sewer locations were started this year, giving the contractor an edge on that part of the installation project. Yet Mason will not able to begin this procedure until July 2, 2010, due to permit restrictions.
Work under and adjacent to the I-90 bridge will continue this winter as allowed by permit. Manson will be working in this area through December. At the end of September, the construction of the pump station and control building was on target. Work at the pump station site will continue through the winter as well. Stellar J will be working on the shoreline through December, installing the restoration components to the area under I-90 as approved by permit.
Project expenses to date are also on track, with $12.3 million met by September. It is anticipated that the project will be completed within the defined time and budget constraints.
