Chinese Wushu & Taichi Academy at Mercer Island will host Tai Chi In The Park from 4-5:30 p.m. on May 24 at Mercerdale Park (3009 77th Ave. SE). The free event is sponsored by the city of Mercer Island to honor and celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Academy students will attend and Mercer Island residents are invited to participate in the event, which will be led by academy master instructor Yijiao Hong. No experience is necessary.

Hong has resided on the Island for more than 21 years and established her tai chi school 30 years ago in Seattle and it is now located on Mercer Island.
