Teens destroy wall at old ferry landing | Mercer Island Police Blotter

Three teenage boys destroyed a cinder block wall with lacrosse sticks on Thursday, June 16, at the old ferry landing in the 4300 block of Forest Avenue S.E. A witness reported the teenagers at 7:47 p.m. The damage was estimated at $200.
June 15
Car prowl: The driver’s window was shattered out of a Land Rover sometime overnight in the 9500 block of S.E. 69th Street. A GPS, iPod and glasses were stolen, and the total loss was $1,050.
Car prowl: Two windows were broken out of a Mazda sometime overnight in the 6600 block of East Mercer Way. Hiking boots and women’s clothing were stolen.
Arrest: Police arrested a Bellevue suspect, 55, outside of the Islander Pub at 10:35 p.m. wanted for second degree assault, domestic violence. The suspect was transferred into the custody of the Bellevue police department.
June 16
Burglary: Golf clubs were stolen out of an unsecured garage in the 5400 block of 91st Avenue S.E. sometime overnight. The golf clubs were worth $1,000.
Car prowl: Suspects stole multiple items out of a Lexus after smashing out a rear passenger window in the 4500 block of Ferncroft Road during the early morning hours. Bibles, checkbooks, a computer bag, clothing and cloth bag were stolen.
Gun powder: A man brought a one-pound can of black gun powder to the police station at 4:51 p.m. and submitted it for destruction.
Accident: A vehicle struck a utility pole along West Mercer Way at 5:05 p.m. The driver, a 54-year-old woman, said she did not know what caused the collision, and she “felt the car slide” before hitting the pole. She said she was getting ready to turn right onto S.E. 28th Street. According to the police report, the vehicle veered off the west side of the road and a rear tire was damaged while the vehicle slid. The vehicle was towed from the scene with an extensively damaged front end. No injuries were reported.
Fender-bender: A Jeep with two occupants backed into a parked vehicle in the 8400 block of S.E. 68th Street at 7:50 p.m. and left the lot. Witnesses gave a description of the driver, a young woman, and said she looked like she knew she had struck the other vehicle. No injuries were reported and damage was negligible.
June 18
Fender-bender: A Lexus backed into a parked, unoccupied vehicle in a parking lot in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th Street at 9:40 a.m. The driver, a 57-year-old woman, said she knew she hit the vehicle, but left because the lot was busy. There was one witness of the incident who said the woman drove off without checking for damages. Police cited the driver for unsafe backing and hit and run unattended.
June 19
Burglary: After investigating the sound of a door opening in his house, a 55-year-old Mercer Island man saw a vehicle speed out of his driveway. He then discovered that his laptop computer and cell phone were missing.
June 21
Car prowl: A Canon digital camera was stolen out of a Volvo after a passenger window was shattered overnight in the 9900 block of S.E. 40th Street.
Car prowl: Two vehicles were prowled overnight in a driveway in the 4100 block of 97th Avenue S.E. Both vehicles, a Chevrolet Silverado and Volkswagen Passat, were left unlocked. Unknown suspects opened the garage door of the residence using a remote in one of the vehicles. The homeowner, a 49-year-old man, said he closed the garage door when he went to bed. A broken digital camera was stolen. Fingerprints were lifted from one of the vehicle’s rear view mirrors.
