Tennis and softball plays in rain and sun | Slideshow

The Mercer Island girls tennis team enjoyed a sunny afternoon last week, before more rain and wild spring weather canceled and postponed several matches. The Islanders beat Sammamish on Tuesday 7-0. The same day the softball team hosted Juanita, a game which started despite pouring rain and wind. The game was called after two innings, and rescheduled.

Singles – Chelsea Bailey won 6-0,6-0; Karissa Walker won 6-0, 6-1;

Caroline Dillon won 6-1, 6-0; Adele Parsons won 6-3, 7-6 (9-7).

Doubles – Nora Tan-Kelly Crandall won 6-0, 6-1; Erica Baska-Ashley Larson won 6-0, 6-1; Sarah Kahan-Erin Crandall won 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6).
