May 3

Theft: An Island man reported at 9:27 a.m. that his bike was stolen from an open garage in the 4200 block of E. Mercer Way.

May 4

Fraud: An Island man in the 7400 block of 86th Ave. SE said at 3:54 p.m. that his personal information was fraudulently used to open a credit card.

Burglary: An Island man reported a burglary at 8 p.m. in the 2200 block of 61st Ave. SE. A computer was stolen.

May 5

Theft: A Snoqualmie man reported that several items were stolen from the Sunset Chevron at 8:16 p.m. The suspect was still on site when police arrived, and was arrested and booked into SCORE jail.

May 6

Theft: An Island woman in the 6700 block of 80th Ave. SE said at 6:06 p.m. that an Amazon package was stolen from her front step.

May 7

Malicious mischief: At 1:56 p.m., an Island woman in the 3900 block of 90th Ave. SE reported that there was a small puncture mark in the front bumper of her car, and the paint in the surrounding area was chipped off.

May 9

Fraud: An Island man said that his unlocked car was prowled at the country club at 9:49 a.m. and his credit and debit cards were removed from his wallet. Someone,spent $2,000 using one of the cards.

Forgery: A Kirkland woman in the 7400 block of SE 27th St. said at 12:34 p.m. that numerous checks were forged from an Island bank account and sent around the country.

Fraud: An Island man in the 8100 block of W. Mercer Way said at 1:16 p.m. that he and his wife had their identities stolen. Several credit cards were created for or diverted to a suspect in California, where a vehicle was apparently purchased for $27,572.84. The cards were cancelled and a fraud alert was instituted.

May 10

Theft: An Island woman in the 9100 block of Fortuna Drive said at 10:55 a.m. that her gold bracelet was stolen, for a loss of $300.

Theft: An Island woman said at 12:02 p.m. that a prop was stolen off her boat, which was in a driveway in the 4000 block of 80th Ave. SE, for a loss of $500.

Substance violation: An Island woman said she found meth in the women’s restroom of her office building in the 9700 block of SE 36th St. at 12:28 p.m.

May 11

Prowling: An Island woman in the 8400 block of SE 33rd Pl. said at 8:46 a.m. that two unlocked vehicles that were parked in a driveway were prowled. There was no property damage, but two GPS units were taken.

Another prowl: An Island woman in the 3000 block of 81st Place SE said at 11:24 a.m. that her unsecured car was rummaged through, and a cell phone charger was taken.

Crime statistics for April

Every month, the Police Department calculates crime statistics and compares them to numbers from the year prior. In April of this year, there were 47 serious offenses, compared to 68 in 2015. The department saw 22 fewer cases of fraud, but had almost the same amount of larceny cases and two more burglaries.

This year, there were 18 adult arrests and zero juvenile arrests. Police arrested 13 adults and zero juveniles in April 2015.

There were 1,396 calls for service this year, compared to 1,413 in 2015.
