Wong has regional experience

I urge all Islanders to support Benson Wong for City Council. I have known Benson for more than 20 years, and he has always exemplified the very best in public service.

I urge all Islanders to support Benson Wong for City Council. I have known Benson for more than 20 years, and he has always exemplified the very best in public service. Locally, he has served on the Mercer Island Schools Foundation Board and the Mercer Island Community Fund Board. He has regional experience as a member of the Washington Public Stadium Authority Board (overseeing the on-budget CenturyLink Field and Event Center project) and as a trustee of the King County Bar Foundation, which provides legal services to low-income people.

He has statewide experience on the Board of TVW (televising session of the legislature and other public bodies). Benson cares deeply about the welfare of his neighbors, both young and old. He is legal counsel to, and former board chair of, the Kin On nursing home in Seattle’s international district. Plus, he is an accomplished and highly respected business lawyer in a major Seattle law firm. Benson is keenly attuned to the hot issues facing Islanders, including our desire to defeat tolling on I-90, sensible development of the North end business district, accommodating our booming school-age population, and preserving our sense of community. He would be a great addition to the City Council.
