Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Hunter

September 10, 1930 – June 12, 2014

Betty Hunter entered the arms of the Lord in Heaven on Thursday, June 12, 2014 after heart surgery. Betty is survived by her 3 loving children Lindsay Campbell (Harold), Vicki Deyesu (Carmen), Doug Hunter (Maria) and her 2 grandchildren Nicholas Hunter and Alexandra Hunter.

Betty was born to Harry and Margaret Mead in Toronto Canada where she grew up and attended School. As a young person she loved dancing and socializing with friends.

After graduation she began working. It was there she met the love of her life Alexander ‘Rex’ Hunter to whom she was married for 50 years. The couple began their family in Canada then relocated to northwest WA State in 1959.

Betty was a woman of deep faith and a dedicated volunteer. As a Stephen Minister she served the Congregation of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in a Pastoral Care capacity. She

took great interest in getting to know everyone’s life story and would share them with family and friends with joy and fascination at the interesting lives people had lived. This gift was also evident in the interviews she conducted with new residents at Covenant Shores where she lived since 2005. Betty loved all of her friends at Covenant Shores.

Funeral Services were held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Wednesday June 18, at 2:00PM.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church Mercer Island, or Children’s Orthopedic Hospital Association Seattle.
