JAMEY RAYMOND HIBBERT

Jamey Raymond Hibbert passed away September 3, 2016 holding the hands of her four sons on Mercer Island. She was born October 1, 1959 in Seattle, Washington to John and Fern Raymond.

She graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1977. After high school Jamey spent her summers working in Alaska paying her way through college. She attended both the University of Washington and Washington State University, graduating from WSU in 1983 with a degree in microbiology.

Jamey always dreamed of being a Dr. and attended medical school at Michigan State University. Jamey’s passion was traveling and she worked for Delta Airlines for over 30 years.

She married Jim Hibbert in 1988, and they traveled the world together until the birth of their children in 1994. After the birth of their children they enjoyed traveling the world as a family. Jamey was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2001.

She courageously battled cancer for 15½ years with unbelievable dignity and determination. During those years her children became her life. She was a passionate volunteer at her kids grade school, middle school, and high school. Her wish was to see all four of her children graduate from high school, and she was able to watch 3 of her 4 children.

Jamey is survived by her husband Jim, and her four children; Beau, Max, Sam, and Cole. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sahalee Country Club, November 20th from 2 to 5PM.
