Josephine Ann (Morisette) Spencer

Beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend peacefully went to heaven on Saturday March 10, 2012. She was born in Tacoma on January 30, 1936 and grew up with an older brother Fr. Alfred Morisette of Gonzaga University, and two sisters Mary Lou of Lakewood WA and Carolyn of Tacoma. JoAnn Graduated from Acquinas High School in 1954. Happily married to Joseph Gregory Spencer for 51 years and raised 5 children, Deanna Phillips (George) of Vancouver, WA; Laura of Redmond, WA; Gary (Scarlet) of Spring, TX; Tom (Marcie) of Seattle, WA; Marie Brotherton (Tom) of Palmyra, VA. Eight grandchildren, Brandee, Nicole, Christina, Ryan (Kaitie), Marisa, Alyce, Cheyenne and Mariel. Great-grandchildren Brayden, Khloe, Jayda and Aria. Grandma Jo lived her life in Tacoma, Mercer Island and Texas. She was a longtime employee of SeaFirst National Bank. Grandma Jo was a “real” grandma because she loved to crochet blankets for her grandchildren and bake cookies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the charity of your choice.
