Former Mercer Island resident Marian Larsen Poirier, 87, passed away on October 24, 2013.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Mercer Island.

Marian was born in Seattle, Washington, on February 28, 1926 and grew up on Mercer Island. She graduated from Garfield High School and continued on to receive an associate’s degree from the University of Washington.

Marian worked as a postal clerk for the Mercer Island Post Office for 25 years. She was also actively involved in the T.O.P.S. organization as well as President of her Homeowners association.

Marian is survived by her sisters, Margaret Siebert (Martha’s Vineyard), Ruth Mary Close (Mercer Island), and Faith Hansen (Coupeville) as well as her brother Howland Larsen (West Virginia).

Marian is also survived by her four sons, Wayne Poirier (Yuma, Arizona), Mike Poirier (Kent), Charles Poirier (Federal Way) and Steve Poirier (Sequim) as well as 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
