Nancy Baynham

Nancy Baynham passed away June 18, 2014 peacefully at home on Mercer Island, Washington, with her husband at her side. Nancy was born October 27, 1937 in Bremerton, Washington to Mabel and Edwin Eliason.

A graduate of University of Puget Sound with a degree in business, she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Nancy worked in Washington D.C. where she met her husband Bob. They were married in 1964 in Bremerton, and celebrated their 49th anniversary in Paris last year. They raised their three children on Mercer Island where they have lived since 1967. In 2003 Nancy had a double lung transplant at the University of Washington Medical Center and celebrated the event yearly like another birthday. She enjoyed over ten years of good living with her new lungs including three more grandchildren. Nancy was a member of the Women’s University Club of Seattle for over 25 years and especially enjoyed the camaraderie of the Club’s investment club, the Insiders. She and Bob had a love for boating as members of the Seattle Yacht Club and spent many summers in the San Juan Islands and Canada’s Desolation Sound as a family.

Nancy is survived by Maureen Eliason Patton. Her brother Bob’s passing preceded her death. Nancy is also survived by her husband Bob and their children Doug (Chris), Linda (Rob), and Greg (Jen), six grandchildren, Riley and Bennett, Robbie and Ryan Moreau, Jack and Elle and many other relatives and loyal friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Seattle Yacht Club on Thursday, July 10 at 5 p.m. Contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to Planned Parenthood of Washington or other charities of your choice. Friends and family are invited to share memories online at www.Flintofts.com.
